Day 9 : 21.2 miles - Ventnor, Isle of Wight

8C cloudy

We had a full family day out today visiting Osborne House with lots of cliff walking so I knew it would be a quick spin today.

It felt lovely and mild out and it's the second time out in shorts this holiday.

I set off at 5:30pm and decided to hunt for a few more climbs I'd spotted on the OS map on the route to Ventnor. Prior to this visit, I really wasn't expecting the Island to be this lumpy. If you're visiting the Southern part of the Island, remember to pack your climbing legs.

I explored the promenade and found a fab skate park tucked out of the way.

On the way back, heading for St Lawrence Shute which is a lovely steep winding lane with a great view dropping off to the right,  you pass a tiny 12th Century church. Think of that; 900 years old.

Home just as the light was starting to fade wishing I'd bought my commuting lights.
