Another beautiful sunny morning in Wales (if a little chilly). Decided to try and find the Dolaucothi Gold Mine that we visited many years ago, as I remember the road up to it being a nice long climb.
I did a longer loop through Llandovery then headed out to hunt down the mine. The climb up was nothing in comparison to yesterdays Black Mountain, although the scenery was similar in parts. On the lower slopes, both roads follow the upwards path of a deep river cutting, so there's always something to look at.
As you near the summit the road opens out so that you get a spectacular view across another valley. Today though, this was made more spectacular as there was low lying cloud along the valley floor below.
Another 4 miles and you arrive at the mine.
The descent from here was long with a few technical corners.
Another great ride and still back home for 11am.
