What a day. Ride in was perfect, dressed in proper clothing this time, leg warmers and all. Beautiful clear skies yet again meant it was a stunning sun-rise. Both commute in and commute home are heading into the sun so I'm just fortunate I guess.
Today I'd been chatting on Twitter to the lovely people at @WorkhouseCoffee (a place I'd never been before) and I'd finally worked out where they were in town. On the way back from Reading Station, I easily found them and called in to buy some fresh beans. After a long chat about coffee (I love these people), as tempting as everything looked, I left without buying a single cake or drinking any coffee. This is a first for me. I will be back though. I only really had time tonight to pop in to buy beans. It's a great coffee shop run by people who know and love coffee. It's a real refreshing change in this world of generic blah coffee outlets.
With a fresh bag of coffee beans now warming up nicely in my rucksack, I headed out of town to hit the normal scenic route. Tonight I opted for Bucklebury. I don't know whether it was just because I was hungry, but I seemed to be able to smell all kinds of meat being char-grilled at every turn. And there aren't that many houses around there. First bit of warm weather and it's BBQ season I guess.
Got a long social ride planned tomorrow with Jim and Don. Heading out West I reckon. Really looking forward to it.
