Woke before the 04:44am alarm this morning. Gave me even more time to eat more #Porridge. Pitch black outside but really looking forward to the next few days of commuting as the so-called experts say its gonna be a good spell of weather. I'll commute through any weather, apart from ice. I don't do ice on skinnies. I had a crash a few years back on black ice, and I've lost my bottle on the stuff. So anyway, back to today's commutes.
The slither of daylight was even more apparent this morning as I set off. Legs still feeling fresh and arrived very early for the train. This just meant I could take the prime spot in the bike rack on the train :)
Coming home was a hot one. I've been in shorts for the commutes home since around February time, but this was the first commute home in short sleeved jersey. Man it felt good. Rides like tonight really feel like payback for all those naff winter commutes. Incidently, I noticed a hell of a lot more cyclists out tonight. Dare I say it, fair-weatherers ?
Once past the Englefield Estate, I thought I'd try the 1:5 climb at Tutts Clump. The actual lane is aptly named Rotten Row. This was easy on the compact, even with a rucksack. So it's all going well. I can report that it's Day 6 and legs, lungs and mind are good :)
Looking back at the climb, giving it the V sign.
